Home Grown
For such a small wee country at the bottom of the world map, the talent and creativity that comes out of New Zealand always blows me away. This month I am proud to be a kiwi with this 100% NZ Designed or Made room reveal.
Every piece in this room has a touch of New Zealand, whether it was designed here or made by someone down the road, it’s pretty neat to see what our creative’s are doing right around the countryside and it was particularly fun to pull it all together and make up a bedroom dedicated to supporting local.
SUPPORTING LITTLE OLD NZ
Here at Alex and Corban we love to support local, and we want to introduce you to some of our favourite NZ brands and how we used this in this months reveal.
Starting off with our mates at Mavis & Osborne who have designed and made these very sturdy and practical laundry baskets. I love how something as simple as a laundry basket can bring such a lovely refreshing pop of colour and style into a room.
Then we have Penney & Bennett, two lovely NZ girls who are print designers and work with gorgeous organic cottons and linen that we see displayed in the pyjamas and bed cushion
Made of Tomorrow, two boys working with folded metal to design scandi styled home accessories bedsides, shelving and décor accessories.
Ashley & Co - a NZ Made household favourite for hand soaps, lotions and home fragrances. HANDMADE IN MILFORD!
Arnold Circus Stools, an iconic design straight out of London but made in NZ from 100% recyclable polyethylene.
Dulux has a fabulous range of ‘Colours of New Zealand’; easy to use and apply in your home, named after some of your favourite places in New Zealand. This colour on the wall is ‘Mt Albert’.
They have over 1000 colours to choose from from within this range!
So that's it this month folks! We feel very privileged to be working with such fine and creative folk from around NZ, and we hope it encourages you to think about supporting local.
