Recipe: Maple Walnut Baked Brie & Mulled Wine
Lean into winter treats with mulled wine, baked cheese, and warm bread. Served on our rustic elm boards and brushed brass trays, even the simplest snacks feel special.
Our resident foodie Jane has shared with us her recipe for Maple Walnut Baked Brie & Mulled Wine so you can make your own for Aperitivo at home.
Maple Walnut Baked Brie
You'll Need:
1x 125g wheel brie cheese
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon finely chopped rosemary
½ cup chopped walnuts
¼ cup chopped dried figs
Method:
Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
Place brie in a small oven proof dish. Drizzle over honey and maple syrup, then pile remaining ingredients on top of the cheese. Bake until softened, about 12-15 minutes; let cool 5 minutes.
Add an extra drizzle of maple syrup and a sprinkle of fresh rosemary.
Serve brie warm and gooey with crusty sourdough or ciabatta, with fresh figs to garnish.

Mulled Wine
You'll Need:
4 whole star anise
3 cinnamon quills
6 whole cloves
2 bay leaves
1 orange, sliced
2 cups apple juice
½ cup caster sugar
2 bottles red wine
½ cup orange liqueur (optional)
Method
Bring spices, orange, juice and sugar to a simmer, stirring continuously while the sugar melts.
Add wine and liqueur and reduce heat so that all is warmed through, without boiling (about 10mins).
Strain and serve hot, garnish with fresh cinnamon quills and dried orange slices.
