The Art of the Perfect Bed

A weekly highlight in the A&C Calendar is our ‘Bed of the Week.’ Each week, Becks, our Birkenhead Interior Stylist, creates the most inviting and cosiest bed setup, which is then recreated in all our stores for you to enjoy.

Becks is a master of styling, effortlessly pairing cushions, throws, and the most beautiful colour combinations to create texture, warmth and a true sanctuary in your home. Get a behind-the-scenes look in our journal as we chat with Becks about all things bedding.

You can also visit Becks or any of our wonderful team in-store to chat about bedding or anything else home-related. They can even create a free mood board with customised options for your home.

As a girl who loves all things green, this can’t get enough of our new Olive pinstripe. Paired with our classic oatmeal it’s the perfect combination for creating a calming space.

Tips for creating a sanctuary in your bedroom

When creating a perfect bedroom sanctuary my top tip is to always start with your bed and bedding and work from there. The bed is the focal point and the piece that will ultimately anchor the entire space. The key to making it look as cosy and inviting as possible is layering, whether adding accent cushions or a simple throw, layers will automatically enhance and elevate your bed and the room as a whole. I am a firm believer that when it comes to a bedroom less is definitely more! It should be a space of calm and serenity so my advice is avoid unnecessary furnishings that could simply end up becoming a fancy clothes horse, keep furnishings minimal and let your gorgeous bed do all the talking!

We all know there's an art to making the perfect bed—any tips to master it?

My perfect bed involves plenty of cushions, nothing says climb into me like a well cushioned bed! Euros are a great way to make your bed feel more sumptuous and luxe, whilst also enhancing comfort. Accent cushions also add the perfect finishing touch and it’s entirely up to you how many you add (you can absolutely ignore your partners complaints when having to remove them every time they come to bed), but generally odd numbers tend to be more pleasuring to the eye and create balance.

Whose bed would you most love to make over with A&C bedding

I’d have to say my Dad. He’s suffered a major health issue at the end of last year, which resulted in him spending 3 months in hospital. Whilst I’m so thankful he is now recovering at home, after all that time in a very uncomfortable hospital bed, I’d love to make him up the most sumptuous of beds he can relax and recover in.

I’m not going to lie but I have I feeling I will be adding the Lucca Swivel Chair to my cart imminently along with the Olive pinstripe bedding.
